I used to teach the most popular ETL course on Udemy. I have since stopped updating the Automating ETL Course on Udemy. I now teach and mentor five students a year on basic data principles and contrarian research.
I never planned to retire, but to eventually transition into a college professor after I had three decades of experience. My best professors that I learned under had several decades of experience working in their fields, not PhDs or other degrees.
However, I find US colleges irresponsible and have observed that they have a contempt for truth and results. These institutions favor cronyism and credentials over precision and results.
Since I love working full time and doing my own research projects, I will not teach more students than five per year as I actively spend two hours per student a week (10 hours). I still have at least another decade to go (maybe two) before I will transition fully into teaching. While this fellowship is designed to take 26 weeks, I allow students up to 52 weeks if they require more training.
I will not maintain the price of this course in a fiat currency, thus this course is priced in troy ounces of gold at 12 troy ounces of gold (about 13.16 ounces of gold) paid in US Dollars*.
Requirements
Physical presence. The fellowship requires physical presence. Students will be required to regularly demonstrate research ability and present findings publicly to an audience.
Student limits. The fellowship limits the number of students annually to five. In addition, I do not want to review applications to enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis only in person.
Internet and AI restrictions. Students cannot use the internet and AI for their research. If either of these tools are used and discovered, the student will be expelled without refund.
Direct feedback. Students must be mature enough to receive direct and sometimes harsh feedback. If your children cannot handle a person being direct and honest with them, send them to an Ivy League university instead.
Contact. The ability to enroll begins in December and the teaching begins in January of the following year. I will not respond to emails, as this fellowship requires in person communication.
Fellowship
* In 1968, before the United States exited the gold standard in August 1971, the cost for a full semester at an above average cost approximately 15 troy ounces of gold. This research fellowship requires the effort of approximately a full semester, though the timing can be extended to 52 weeks.
